Sagoonick Hearing March 4, 2026
Description
RSVP NOW!
On March 4, 2026, eight courageous young Alaskans will stand before the Alaska Supreme Court in Sagoonick v. State of Alaska II, a landmark constitutional climate case.
The youth plaintiffs are challenging the State of Alaska’s support for the Alaska LNG Project, a massive fossil fuel project that would roughly triple Alaska’s greenhouse gas emissions for decades. They argue that state laws mandating this project violate their constitutional rights to a climate system that sustains human life, liberty, and dignity, as well as their right to equal access to public trust resources.
These young people are already experiencing climate harms to their health, communities, and cultural traditions. Moving forward with the Alaska LNG Project would worsen those harms and lock Alaska into decades of climate damage.
